Darussalam Pilotage Services Sdn Bhd is a maritime pilotage company with the aim of providing pilotage services in Brunei Darussalam, in particular the Muara Pilot District. 

We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified professionals to fill the following positions:

Accountant 

The key roles and responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

  • Responsible for preparing the financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance 
  • Manages the Company’s payable, receivable and inventory activities 
  • Monitor and manage the Company’s Financial Risk and ensure the Company’s accounting activities comply with all regulatory requirement, internal policies and regulations. 
  • Design and implement best practice strategies and process improvements for the Company 
  • Provide and prepare information for financial reports in a timely manner 
  • Performs any other duties as required and mutually agreed with the General Manager 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance. Master’s Degree or a relevant full/partial professional qualification (e.g ACCA, CPA) would be an advantage 
  • Minimum three (3) years working experience in related field

Key Competencies Required 

Demonstrates strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills. Possess strong understanding of accounting and financial processes. Detail-oriented, professional, honest and able to effectively and efficiently organise and coordinate multiple priorities.


Human Resources and Administration Assistant Manager  

The key roles and responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

  • Undertake the full range of HR and Administration functions of the Company  
  • Ensure all HR programs and processes within the Company is able to support the business and operational needs of the Company 
  • Develop and ensure effective implementation of a wide range of frameworks, policies and processes, including strategic workforce planning, performance management system, learning and development programs, succession planning and HR information systems 
  • Develop and implement administrative policies and guidelines surrounding the relevant administrative support services and facilities management to ensure the efficient operations of the Company 
  • Performs any other duties as required and mutually agreed with the General Manager

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations/Business Management or any related fields. Master’s Degree or a relevant full/partial professional qualification would be an advantage
  • Minimum three (3) years working experience in related field. HR and Administration industrial experience is an added advantage

Key Competencies Required 

Demonstrates ability to effectively lead and interact with a wide variety of people. Possesses strong problem-solving skills, solid analytical and decision-making skills and able to effectively and efficiently organise and coordinate multiple priorities.


Pilot Trainee

The key roles and responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

  • To acquire all necessary knowledge and skill to pilot class B size vessels within the stipulated time frame. 
  • To pass the theory examination, practical Test, oral test and simulation test of Marine Pilot Class B within the stipulated time frame. 
  • To act as safety officer for the Pilotage Department.
  • To ensure all safety procedures are complied with and to report any violations, incidents and/or accidents.
  • To assist in Marine Operation on Communication and deployment of marine crafts. 
  • To assist ships under remote Piloting/navigational control from MOC. 
  • To assist Chief Pilot in checking the aids to navigation and channel depths/sounding of the areas

Minimum Requirements 

  • Open to male or female applicant. 
  • 26 - 45 years old. 
  • Certificate Of Competency (COC) Class 3 Foreign-going vessel OR WKO 500 GT Unlimited voyage OR Diploma in Nautical Studies is required
  • Fluent in spoken/written English and Bahasa Melayu 
  • No height phobia – must be able to climb vertical ladders
  • Able to swim
  • Mentally/physically fit
  • No color-blindness. 
  • No hearing problem
  • Good eyesight
  • Valid IMO Medical certificate (if possible)

Key Competencies Required 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to communicate in English is mandatory. Malay language proficiency is an advantage 
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills 
  • Strong leadership and able to remain calm under pressure 
  • Strong listening and negotiation skills 
  • Good knowledge of the Marine Industry as a whole
